Feel so privileged to have been part of this exciting show in an old fish factory (www.suspendedsentences.co.uk) Such a wide variety of art responding to the poetry of Simon Armitage. Great evening events and great energy throughout the whole project Photos to follow.

Well, I've been reasonably on top of facebook and Twitter updates with regards to studio practice, exhibitions etc but terrible in terms of updating my website and this blog. Time to update - the blog at least. Image - portrait of me by Jesse Leroy Smith (http://www.jesseleroysmith.co.uk) as part of the Suspended Sentences exhibition I've just recently been involved with. Experimented last week printing onto wood - love the process and enjoying developing the mould prints I created for DarkRooms. The deadline for Leth looms and I have unfinished work, this almost seems fitting for an event entitled 'Limbo'. Is it right to put work out that's in development stages? I have several printed tablets to choose from all have differing qualities. Printing on to wood is something I will be developing next in the studio. It takes me back to my love of photography (what initially hooked me into the arts) the dark room process of waiting to see the ghostly image emerge in the liquid tray. With this process I'm rinsing the wood under the running tap, it's hit and miss what, from the original image, appears. I'm enjoying the unpredictable nature of it. |
AuthorI always love a peek into fellow artists studios, seeing work in progress and ideas being played with. Categories
